10th Annual Run for Joe
Rapid River Memorial Day 5K Run/Walk
Monday, May 29th, 2017

 

The 2017 Rapid River Memorial Day Run/Walk and all its proceeds will go to the 'Friends of Joe' fund. These proceeds are used to purchase t-shirt, trophies, etc for future run/walk's and to pay for lighting and on-going maintenance and up-keep for Joe's, 'Lest They be Fogotten Memorial'. Again this year, the Friends of Joe Committee has decided to put some of the funds back into the community by honoring 2 Rapid River Senior Students with Scholarships in the name of Cpl. Joseph P. Micks.

 

Start/Finish Area:  Rapid River Lions Club Pavilion

 

Race Day Registration/Packet Pick Up:  7:00-8:45 am est

 

Start Time:  9:00 am est

 

Entry Fee:  $20.00

$15.00 each for family of 3 or more

$2.00 UPPRC Discount

Awards:  Male/Female Age Group Winners Top 2 Places

 

Age Groups:  10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 & up.

The 2016 run/walk brought 240 participants from all over the UP of Michigan, Wisconsin and Illinois.

The 2015 run/walk brought 256 participants from all over the UP of Michigan, Wisconsin and Illinois.

The 2014 run/walk brought 271 participants from all over the UP of Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, Ohio and Connecticut.

The 2013 run/walk brought 310 participants from all over the UP of Michigan, Lower Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota, North Carolina and Oklahoma. 

The 2012 run/walk brought 271 participants from all over the UP of Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Colorado and California.

The 2011 run/walk brought 237 participants from all over the UP of Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois and North Carolina.
